It seems Gwyneth Paltrow‘s got the beat.
The actress is looking to produce a musical about The Go-Go’s, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gwyneth wants to base the show on the life and music of the all-girl group behind hits like “Vacation” and “Our Lips Are Sealed.” Belinda Carlisle and her bandmates are even considering being involved and possibly penning new songs for the Broadway show.
The Go-Go’s were the first all-female band that played their own instruments to top the Billboard charts. But fame definitely had a price for the California band. Carlisle has even talked openly about the seedier side of stardom including her own 30-year drug addiction.
No word on who will write the upcoming musical or whether Gwyneth will star in the show. The actress has previously showed off her pipes on Glee along with the movies Country Strong and Duets.
The band just celebrated the 30th anniversary of their debut, Beauty and the Beat and is on tour until Oct. 14 — although the Twin Cities show was recently cancelled on Oct. 3.
